Quality Control Technician – Food Manufacturing

SUMMARY:
Report directly to the Food Safety and Quality Manager. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the quality and food safety of the product. The QC technicians follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, and product quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experienced in food environment with GFSI experienced a plus
  • Able to learn to perform certain laboratory practices with attention to detail
  • Able to make smart food safety and food quality related decisions.
  • Able to determine appropriate corrective actions when needed and carry out those corrective actions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for monitoring critical control points (CCP).
  • Responsible for monitoring product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for performing sanitation verification of daily/weekly/other SSOPs
  • Responsible for the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and documentation.
  • Ensures employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices.
  • Ensures and educates employees on GMP, food safety, and SQF standards.
  • Responsible to issue disciplinary action when directed.
  • Collect product samples for the USDA when directed.
  • Perform inspections of products, equipment, high-risk rooms, and tankers.
  • Perform calibrations on various pieces of equipment
  • Collecting product samples for lab testing
  • Collecting environmental samples for lab testing
  • Set-up and perform certain laboratory tests
